FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Hiring a photographer involves trust — and that starts with knowing what to expect. Here are the questions I get asked most often, covering everything from how I work and what things cost, to turnaround times and usage rights.

If you can't find what you're looking for, just get in touch — I'm always happy to talk things through.

  • Description text goes hereMy style is clean, bright and natural — I aim to create images that feel genuine rather than overly staged. Across all my work, whether that's corporate headshots, events or commercial shoots, I focus on making people feel relaxed so the images reflect who they actually are.

You can see examples across headshots, events, brand and commercial work at www.adamhollier.co.uk

  • My main areas are headshots and portraits, corporate events and awards ceremonies, brand and website photography, and commercial work. I work with businesses of all sizes — from sole traders refreshing their online presence to large corporates needing full event coverage.

  • I shoot with two Canon R5 mirrorless cameras with Canon L series lenses throughout. For studio work I use Bowens studio lighting. Using two cameras means I never miss a moment at events, and the L series glass ensures sharp, professional results in all lighting conditions.

  • Every location is different so I adapt — working with natural light where it's available, adding flash for events and darker venues, or using full studio lighting for controlled shoots. The goal is always the same: well-lit, flattering images regardless of the environment.

  • It always starts with a brief — this can be as loose or as detailed as the client needs. For people-focused shoots I put a lot of emphasis on making subjects feel comfortable before the camera comes out, because relaxed people make better photographs. I also like to bring fresh ideas and new angles to every job rather than just repeating a formula.

  • I aim to deliver finished, edited images within 7 working days. All images are personally edited by me before delivery — I don't outsource this. For urgent requirements, please get in touch and I'll do my best to accommodate you.

  • An hour’s shoot is £225, a half day shoot is £525, with travel charged separately and a full day rate is £795. All pricing includes my professional editing — you won't receive unprocessed files.

For larger projects, repeat bookings or ongoing brand work I'm happy to discuss tailored packages.

    Full pricing is at www.adamhollier.co.uk

  • All images are edited as standard before delivery. For more detailed retouching — such as significant skin retouching, background replacement or compositing — this can be arranged and may carry an additional charge depending on the scope. I'll always be upfront about this before the shoot.

  • I'm based in Hertfordshire and regularly shoot across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and London. I'm also available nationwide for the right project — travel and accommodation for distant locations will be discussed and agreed in advance.

  • Yes — I carry full public liability insurance, which is a requirement for most corporate venues and events. Documentation can be provided on request.

I am also fully DBS checked as I regularly work with schools and colleges.

  • Clients receive full usage rights to all delivered images for their own business purposes — website, social media, print, marketing materials and internal use. If you have specific licensing requirements (for example advertising or third party usage) just let me know at the briefing stage.

  • For events with a fixed date I'd recommend booking as early as possible — popular dates fill up quickly.

For headshots and studio work there's usually more flexibility. You can check availability and book directly via my online diary at www.adamhollier.co.uk

  • Yes — my website shows a broad portfolio but if you'd like to see work specific to your sector just get in touch directly and I'll put together a relevant selection. I've shot across a wide range of industries including professional services, hospitality, technology and creative sectors.

  • I shoot with two camera bodies at all times, which protects against equipment failure. In over 20 years of photography, I've never missed a booked event. In the extremely unlikely event of a serious emergency, I hold professional indemnity insurance and have a network of trusted professional photographers I can call on. I'll always communicate with you immediately and find a solution.

  • “After a recommendation from a past customer of Adam’s, we chose him to shoot our headshots and team photography. The images came out exactly as we had imagined and he understood the context of our company in a creative industry well. Adam is super friendly and made the whole process easy and relaxing - couldn't recommend more!”
